It's actually my birthday today (29). Late as it is, feel free to post all the Falcons, Comets, Landy Series, bathtub Hudson/Packard, and anything else that might amuse me. Or not, that's fine too.
As a side note, I need to conspire with Aussie Oppos for an XM coupe.

I have to say, most people don't think to close-couple the Jag, but there's no earthly reason not to. What's that cab - a '36ish Ford?

Oh shit, happy birthday RamblinRover! One day short of my greyhounds birthday, so I actually won't forget in the future. Thanks for being an endless source of knowledge and witticism over the time you have been here!

I think you mean, "SNIFF SNIFF, MOTHERFUCKERS".

Insert horror movie cliche "OH GOD THEY STOLE HIS FACE" screaming here.

I bet you could reenact Face/Off for that one though

I got you one of each, enjoy!
P.S. That last one was just a random find on a Google search of "Hudson Bathtub" lol

Happy Birthday! Have some cake! :D

That's an accurate assessment of the cab.

Lol well I'd figured that out, I was just making the point that I hadn't searched Google for Rock Hudson in a bathtub. haha

You're still getting Force-choked. So. Hard.

I wonder - do you have an entire database of birthday cakes for each year like you have *some other* databases? Morbid curiosity.

I'd try to shoot you, but I'd just miss.

Posted elsewhere, for other reasons, but it's nice enough to post again - Ralph Lauren's restored '38 Alfa Romeo 8C 2900 Mille Miglia.

I know they're un-aerodynamic as all hell, but I really wish more makes would take a chance on pod headlights. Particularly since they're not at all limited on shape anymore.

Robert Cumberford gave them a nod with his Martinique - unsure how many were built:

Naw, I just GIS cakes each time. Of course, yours wasn't there nor were any decent cakes with those cars you listed. You can find any age on a birthday cake.

I like the Woodlite headlights found on some Cords, Ruxtons, and others, but they apparently sucked functionally.

Some stuff I caught at the Glen. I have exactly one more month to enjoy being 29. You think about that... Happy birthday *sobs quietly in carseat*

Wow. My Uncle Barry had a Cord - been bugging a cousin in TN to find the photo of him with his foot on the running board.

That '63 Sprint has entirely too much air box, but looks really great. I particularly like the rally lights. I'd say the Plym makes a strong case for the return of stacked headlights... oh, and the return of Plymouth while I'm dreaming.
I put a variant of that livery on my AMC in Forza 5, because it's great.

Are those minilites? I like the overall distorted and weathered shape of the hood/bumper/etc. - it's had some hard racing abuse.

Dunno - found it here , it's their find of the day.

Very nice. I have to say, I don't think the fiberglass fenders probably made that much of a weight difference (fenders weigh like 15lb each at most), but I'm sure the hood and bumper helped - the hood's probably closer to 60lb, based on how heavy I remember mine being.
![]() 11/25/2014 at 17:58 |

Buddy of mine had a Falcon of the same vintage, and everything was heavy. Car called FALC because the O and the N had fallen off.

Have a Comète. Because Ford France (RIP).
![]() 11/25/2014 at 18:13 |

It's funny, because the main body structure is pretty much made of paper. 2500lb car - 70lb seat, - 70lb doors x2, - 60lb hood... Everything attached is heavy as hell, the car proper, not so much.
